What it is

What ceramic window tint does

Window tint is often a same-day job at our shop on Schoolcraft Rd in Livonia. We cut HITEK ceramic film to your windows, install it, and tell you when you can roll the windows down.

Ceramic window tint cuts cabin temperature, blocks up to 99% of UV radiation and reduces glare. It also protects your interior from the sun damage that turns dashboards brittle and seats faded.

We install HITEK ceramic films, Ceramic Black and Ceramic Ultra. Both are nano-ceramic, so they won't interfere with GPS, phone or radio signal, and they won't fade or turn purple in the sun.

Shade preview

Preview a tint shade

Tint is measured in VLT: visible light transmission. The lower the percentage, the darker the film. Tap a shade to preview it on the glass.

How it's done

How we install window tint

We template every window to your exact car and cut the film before it touches the glass. Then we install it for clean, even edges.

Window tinting takes 3 to 5 days to cure fully, depending on weather. We tell you exactly when you can roll down your windows. Until then, water bubbles between the glass and the film are normal. They are adhesive curing, and they go away.

Frequently asked

Tint questions

Where can I get window tint in Livonia?

Our shop is at 33801 Schoolcraft Rd in Livonia, MI. Window tint is often same day, and we tell you when you can roll the windows down.

Will tint interfere with my phone or GPS signal?

Not with our HITEK films. Older metallic films could interfere with cellular and GPS signals, and that was a real problem 15 years ago. Modern ceramic films use nano-ceramic technology with zero metal content, so signals pass through uninterrupted.

How much heat does ceramic tint block?

Both of our HITEK ceramic films block a large share of infrared, the heat-carrying part of sunlight, so the cabin stays noticeably cooler. Ceramic Ultra rejects the most heat. You notice it most on hot summer days, when the sun hits the dash and seats.

How long before I can roll the windows down?

Window tint takes 3 to 5 days to cure fully, depending on weather. We tell you exactly when you can roll your windows down after install.

What does Michigan law allow?

Michigan law only allows film on the top 4 inches of the windshield and front side windows, unless you have a medical exemption. Rear side windows and the rear glass can be any darkness, as long as the film isn't reflective. We walk you through your options before we start. For more, read our guide to Michigan tint law.

How much does window tint cost?

Window tint cost depends on the vehicle, which windows are being tinted and the film. We quote each job once we know those three things.
