Full Front, Track Package or Full Body: which PPF package?

The right package depends on where your car takes damage. Each package covers different panels.

Paint protection film is sold by coverage area. More coverage means more protection, more time in the shop, and a higher price. The trick is covering the panels that actually take damage on your car.

Full Front

Covers: the full hood, full front fenders, the complete front bumper, and the mirror caps.

These are the panels that face forward, so they take nearly all the rock chips from highway driving. Covering the full hood and full fenders, instead of just the front edge, means there's no visible line across the middle of the panel.

Best for: most daily drivers, leases, and commuters on I-96, I-275, I-696, and I-75.

Time at the shop: about 3 days.

Track Package

Covers: everything in Full Front, plus the rocker panels and side skirts, the lower door extensions, and strips behind the wheels.

The name comes from track use, but in Michigan it works as a winter package. The lower sides of a car get sandblasted by salt, sand, and stones thrown by the front tires. That's where you see chipped rockers and pitted lower doors on older cars.

Best for: SUVs and trucks, anyone who drives gravel roads, and cars that see a lot of winter miles.

Time at the shop: 3–4 days.

Full Body

Covers: every painted exterior panel, front to back, including the roof, pillars, mirrors, door cups and edges, and trunk. Headlights are available too.

Full Body protects against everything: chips, parking lot scuffs, door dings, bird droppings, and wash swirls anywhere on the car. It's also the only way to protect matte or satin paint, which can't be polished if it gets marked.

Best for: exotics and collector cars, matte paint, cars you plan to keep for a long time, and anyone who wants the whole car to stay original.

Time at the shop: 5–7 days.

How to choose

  • Mostly highway commuting? Full Front.
  • SUV, truck, gravel roads, or heavy winter driving? Track Package.
  • Exotic, matte, collector, or a car you're keeping for good? Full Body.

Not sure? Tell us what you drive and how you use it, and we'll recommend what fits. If a smaller package gets you most of the way there, we'll say so.

Gloss or matte

Every package is available in either finish. Autobahn Incognito X is our gloss film. Autobahn Stärke is our matte film, with a 10-year warranty. It can protect factory matte paint or turn a gloss car satin.

See our PPF page for photos of each package.
